HOW YFS USES COOKIES AND SIMILAR STORAGE
YFS uses essential cookies and browser storage to make the service work. These can include session and security cookies used by Django, a CSRF security cookie for forms, and local browser storage used by the progressive web app for offline drafts and display preferences.
Public share links use an essential first-party session cookie to count coarse unique browser opens and, if someone later creates an account, attribute that registration to the shared link. YFS does not use this feature to store IP addresses, fingerprint browsers, or reveal visitors to the person who shared the link.
OPTIONAL ANALYTICS AND ADVERTISING
When allowed by the privacy setting applicable to you, YFS may use Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API to understand whether advertising leads to visits, verified registrations, genuine trials, confirmed purchases, and first-hive activation. Meta attribution cookies or identifiers can include _fbp and _fbc. Browser PageView and ViewContent events and server conversion events are kept aligned so the same conversion is not counted twice. Server events may contain hashed matching identifiers and the technical/event information described in the Privacy Policy. They do not contain payment-card details.
When Microsoft Clarity is configured, YFS uses it only on public marketing and demo pages to understand aggregate page behavior. Clarity is not loaded in the signed-in farm workspace or on account forms.
In locations configured for prior opt-in, these optional technologies remain off until you allow them. In configured opt-out locations, they may operate unless you opt out. A detected Global Privacy Control signal disables optional advertising tracking. Use Privacy choices in the site footer to allow or withdraw optional tracking. Your preference is stored for up to 180 days so the notice does not repeatedly appear; provider cookies can have their own retention periods under the provider's policies.
Some optional or third-party features may use their own technologies. Cloudflare Turnstile helps protect account registration. When you search for or verify a farm location, Google Maps may process the search or device-derived coordinates and return a formatted address, place identifier, address components, and coordinates for YFS to save as the farm's default location. Stripe may set or read cookies when you use hosted checkout or the billing portal. Your browser controls can block or delete cookies, but doing so may prevent sign-in, forms, checkout, map, notification, or offline features from working correctly.
